Candy Shop Scene Reflection
Doing a scene with another person is very different than doing a monologue. While doing a scene you have someone to react to which makes it easier to remember what happens next. During this scene I think that I did very well with blocking. An example is when I had to walk from the candy counter to the back room to find candy. I also think I did well with changing emotions from antagonistic to happy and upbeat. Over time I improved on pausing when I needed to add dramatic effect. This is especially shown in the end when I said “nope, I was deliberately wasting your time.” At first when I would perform the scene I wouldn't put a pause after nope but in the final draft I did. Over time our skit changed a lot. In the beginning we didn't have any blocking and we just stayed at the counter. In the end I ended up walking back and forth from the candy counter to the storage room each time the customer mentioned another candy. Another improvement was the use of props. During the final ...
